2.4: Undocumented Changes

Some undocumented changes have been found in patch 2.4:

The skill-up formula seems to have changed, so that around 400 fewer catches are required to reach 300.
The skill required to fish in Silmyr Lake has increased to 405 to cast, 500 to stop get-aways.
Barbed Gill Trout can no longer be caught in Shadowmoon Valley.

2.4: Daily Quests, Darters, Quel’Danas and More

Patch 2.4 round-up:

Fishing Daily Quests – Easily completed, with a chance to gain loot such as the Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat and the very rare, very cute, bucket crocolisk mini-pets.
Golden Darter got easier to catch, with the appearance of Brackish Mixed Schools in Outland.
Isle of Quel’Danas‘ coastal waters are teeming with new fish.

A new Quests chapter has been added to El’s Extreme Anglin’, and the Getting Started and Equipment chapters have been rewritten. So there really is no better time to go fishing!

Golden Darter easier to catch in 2.4

With all the interest in the new daily fishing quests, most anglers have missed another important change in patch 2.4: Brackish Mixed Schools have replaced Feltail Schools in Outland. It means that pool fishing will finally be the best way to catch Golden Darter. Read further explanation and analysis here.

“Broiled Bloodfin now increases resistances to all schools of magic instead of increasing Stamina and Spirit.
New Fishing Daily Quests! Visit the mysterious old man fishing at Silmyr Lake outside of Shattrath City to discover what treasures he has to offer.
Find Fish now correctly tracks Schools of Tastyfish and Muddy Churning Waters.”
