Fish Feast and Pool Suckerfish
Patch 3.0.8 (which is still being tested) is known to make 2 important changes:
- The recipe for Fish Feast has been added. Fish Feast gives a +80 Attack Power, +46 Spell Power and +40 Stamina buff. The recipe requires 5 Dalaran Cooking Awards and 450 cooking skill to buy. Fortunately, Gigantic and Small Feasts become “yellow” until skill 450, making it much easier to skill-up cooking to 450.
- About half of all catches from Northrend’s pools have a Pygmy Suckerfish attached: Much more common than existing open water fishing.
Dark Herring and Dustbringer
Northrend anglers can catch 2 very rare fish:
- Dark Herring – A fish dagger. Caught from at least open inland water in Grizzly Hills and Howling Fjord, plus Fangtooth Herring School. Completes the achievement, “One That Didn’t Get Away”.
- Dustbringer – Another dagger, the “Blade of the Crimson Landlord.” Learn more about the Ash…Dustbringer in Valuable Gear. Nat Pagle still has a lot of explaining to do!
Special thanks to everyone who has been posting about rare catches on the forums.
El’s Anglin’ Updated for WotLK
Busy packing warm clothing for a trip to Northrend on 13th November? El’s Extreme Anglin’ has been completely updated with Wrath of the Lich King information. The biggest changes are:
- Training – Including a new 350-450 cooking and fishing leveling guide. A guide to Dalaran Daily Cooking Quests has been added.
- Valuable Fish – Many new valuable catches, from buff food to minipets.
Please post about anything you find confusing or inaccurate on the forums.
Patch 3.0.3 and Northrend Leveling
- El’s Inscription has been updated with expected changes in patch 3.0.3. Most important, leveling from skill 290 is now much easier.
- A 350-450 Inscription leveling guide has been added to the training chapter for Northrend scribes. I recommend you stop leveling at skill 430, and simply research: Power-leveling to 450 is possible, but currently requires a lot of materials.
Northrend Fish
The WotLK pages have been updated with information about the skill needed to cast a line in Northrend, and what you can catch there. No new fishing training, no way to cook new fish, and no new “mechanics” yet.
Fishing Pre-Preview (WorldWide Invitational)
El had a chance to fish in Northrend for the first time, at Blizzard’s Paris 2008, WorldWide Invitational. Like other professions, very little has been added yet, and what has been added may still change. Read more »
