4.1 Azeroth Daily Fishing Quests
Patch 4.1 adds daily fishing quests to Darnassus, Ironforge, Thunder Bluff and the Undercity. The quests are described on the Alliance and Horde Azeroth daily pages. These dailies are alternatives to the Stormwind or Orgrimmar quests: You can only complete 1 Azeroth fishing daily per day. Patch 4.1 simply gives you a choice of cities, each with different quests. Rewards are the same as before.
4.1 Undercity Daily Quests
The latest test version of patch 4.1 adds fishing and cooking daily quests to the Undercity. Quests start from trainers (Armand Cromwell and Eunice Burch respectively). These give the same rewards as the Orgrimmar dailies. The new dailies are work-in-progress and not yet complete: There is only 1 confirmed fishing quest (Fish Head, which requires a Severed Abomination Head to be caught from the Undercity). No equivalent new Alliance quests have been found yet.
3.3.3 Fishing (Updated)
From the 3.3.3 patch notes:
“The ‘Monsterbelly Appetite’ daily fishing quest has changed so it now takes place outside the Violet Hold in Dalaran. The quest still requires a Severed Arm [catch a Bloated Slippery Eel] and has been renamed to ‘Disarmed!’”
Also:
- Using a lure now automatically lures your equipped fishing pole (you no longer apply the lure directly to your pole).
- Sea Turtle jump sound – video (thanks Durth).
- New junk items from the Northrend daily Bag of Fishing Treasures – A Fantasy Portrait (pictured below) and Blank Slate (thanks Huenninjarin).
- Level 70 requirement on fishing gear from that bag (Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat and poles), to stop “twinks” using them.

2.4: Daily Quests, Darters, Quel’Danas and More
Patch 2.4 round-up:
- Fishing Daily Quests – Easily completed, with a chance to gain loot such as the Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat and the very rare, very cute, bucket crocolisk mini-pets.
- Golden Darter got easier to catch, with the appearance of Brackish Mixed Schools in Outland.
- Isle of Quel’Danas‘ coastal waters are teeming with new fish.

A new Quests chapter has been added to El’s Extreme Anglin’, and the Getting Started and Equipment chapters have been rewritten. So there really is no better time to go fishing!
2.4 Fishing Changes
A summary of patch 2.4 changes to fishing is now available. 2.4 includes daily quests, changes to Outland pools, and new fish from the coast of Isle of Quel’Danas. This topic will be regularly updated as new changes are discovered.

- “Broiled Bloodfin now increases resistances to all schools of magic instead of increasing Stamina and Spirit.

- Find Fish now correctly tracks Schools of Tastyfish and Muddy Churning Waters.”
