BlizzCon 2009 Fishing

Good to know "Old Crafty" is still plotting his escape from Orgrimmar:

"Big changes to fishing that I cannot talk about yet... We're going to make it more fun!"

Perhaps based on Animal Crossing - you'd be able to see different types of fish, and cast so that the bobber lands near the fish you want (thanks Mike).

With the Cataclysm, maximum personal fishing skill will rise to 525, with a new "Illustrious" rank. And water appears to move more.

WereWolf Fishing....this is gonna be sweet!

it actually would be sweet if animal forms could fish without a pole....bear, cat, wolf, werewolf.

and now that there's a goblin race, lets hope the goblin fishing poles work properly.

I am excited to see what Blizz will do with the Fishing.
It was Animal Crossing that actually got me addicted to Fishing in a game! Then WoW came into my life... Fishing Heaven!

I will have to go back to all my favorite Fishing Spots and take screen shots before the world changes on me.
It will be Sad to never go there again and Fish.... and take in the tranquilty those places brought me. But I know It will open up some new spots and I am sure they will be just as Beautiful as the ones before.

Well, I surely would appreciate being able to have more control over my casts. I'm a pretty decent IRL fisherman and it annoys me no end to be maxed out in my in-game fishing skill and still have practically no control over where my bobber lands. LOL!

You're right about the screen shots, Sapphiria. Need to make a little scrap book of old favorite fishing places.

It doesn't matter where your bobber lands you still catch the fish.

Correct you always do catch a fish no matter where it land. But I think we have all had that one school of fish that your bobber will go everywhere around it instead of in it. I believe that is what he meant. =)

Hmm seems Blizz forgot about this change. Unless of course they meant anew icon not once but twice!
