3.1 Sea Turtle [Updated]
First illustrated catch of the ultra-rare Sea Turtle, by Darthnublar. Image updated to show latest colors. This came from a Glacial Salmon School on the 3.1 PTR (not yet live). Elorwyn also caught one from Moonglow Cuttlefish School. It should be possible to catch the mount from any Northrend pool. The mount gives a swim speed increase of 60% (according to the tooltip). Catching it awards the achievement “Turtles all the way down”.

…do we happen to know what the swimspeed of normal mounts will be?
The normal land mounts I’ve tested move at the individual’s (un-mounted) swim speed. Buffs like glyphed-Water Breathing automatically apply. So for most mounts, the time saving is simply that you do not have to remount once back on dry land.

Aww, so it’s the pet/TCG mount turtle model and not the mob model with a saddle…
I do hope you don’t have to confirm picking up this BoP item when catching it, this has always been a problem with BoP fishing items. Once had a Crafty drop, but a BG invite popping up prevented that I could confirm picking it up…

Land speed of it is going to be 60%, but in the water it will be 133%.
There’s a new interpretation of this mount’s water speed announced every few days (read here). In the same 48 hours that MMO-Champion published “133%”, Zarhym announced “100%” on the official forums, and the actual PTR turtle stated “60%”.

I strongly believe there will be, at the very least, a recolor of this model. Hopefully something blue.
Mount speed is 0% (unless I’m mistaken), and swim speed is 60%.

Oh for the love of… I went thru ALOT of trouble to get my TCG turtle mount and now Blizzard decides to give it out to everybody! What the hell were they thinking? The lootcard will become useless now. This sucks!
What next? They start giving out spectral tigers to people with good Cooking? Nether-Rockets to engineers?

Got it fishing in pools in the the zone right beneath Dalaran. That river/pool has a surprising amount of fish pools. Got it 20 minutes after I started to begin farming… was quite surprised. I don’t know if it’s honestly that common, or if I just got lucky.

P.S the tooltip for it is 60% increasing swim speed. It seems to be +60% in water, and absolutely no increased movement on land. Somewhat dissapointing.
