Technique: Rituals of the New Moon is a Bind on Pickup tome which scribes can loot from the corpses of the residents of Silverbrook, on the north-west side of the Grizzly Hills. You may need to complete the area's quest line before these "villagers" are hostile. The Technique teaches the scribe to make an off-hand, Rituals of the New Moon. This can be used (by anyone) to turn themselves into a wolf for 2 minutes, with a 10 minute cooldown (illustrated right).
There are 4 different New Moon items a scribe may make. The type is decided randomly at the time each Rituals of the New Moon is made. Each different tome turns the user into a wolf of a different color: White, red, grey or black. Kaliope has pictures of all 4 wolves.
Staff
Many Pandaria-level staves use one or more of the following ingredients:
- Plain Wooden Staff - Sold by Inscription vendors.
- Scroll of Wisdom - Gained during daily Scroll of Wisdom Research (and also via Quests). Bound to the scribe.
- Spirit of Harmony - Drops from creatures in Pandaria as Mote of Harmony. Combine 10 Motes into a Spirit. Bound to the scribe.
Only the 2 "Alchemy and Inscription" vendors in the Twilight Highlands (Una Kobuna in Dragonmaw Port for Horde, Casandra Downs in Highbank for Alliance) sell the unusual items used to make Cataclysm-level staves - Bleached Jawbone, Deathwing Scale Fragment, Preserved Ogre Eye, Scavenged Dragon Horn, and Silver Charm Bracelet. These vendors are only available after the initial Twilight Highlands quests have been completed. These quests require at least level 84. Alternatively, these unusual items can rarely be found in Flame-Scarred Junkbox, pickpocketed by Rogues.
