Materials 75-100

This section has a curious balance: 50 skill-points worth of recipes have been compressed into 25. In addition, many recipes remain orange for 10 points, rather than the 5 found at other skill levels.

Mill 70 herbs (14 millings) that produce Dusky Pigment/Verdant Pigment. Any from: Briarthorn, Bruiseweed, Mageroyal, Stranglekelp, or Swiftthistle. You should gain at least 36 Dusky Pigment and 5 Verdant Pigment. No not worry if you do not have enough Verdant Pigment: You may need to make slightly more Midnight Ink instead of Hunter's Ink.

You will also need 20 Light Parchment, which are sold by Inscription vendors.

Leveling 75-85

As normal, we start by making ink. Midnight Ink skills up entirely "in the green". This means most inks you create will not give a skill-up. So there is a chance you will be unlucky, and not reach 79 skill. If this happens, simple make extra ink and create one of the rank-II scrolls trained at skill 75. You might also reach 80 skill by making ink, in which case make one less glyph between skill 80 and 85.

This is the first time you can create glyphs. Many glyphs will sell at auction, even those created at lower level. If you want to make money while you skill-up Inscription, check current auction house prices before deciding what glyphs to make. Learn more about glyphs »

Minor Inscription Research is trained at skill 75, and remains "orange" until 125. So why not skill-up with research? Minor Inscription Research has a 20 hour cooldown: You can only use it once every 20 hours, so it will take a long time to level-up using only research!

Minor Inscription Research allows minor glyphs to be discovered. Many minor glyphs can be used to skill-up at this level. Since I cannot be sure what you will discover, no minor glyphs are used to skill-up.

Leveling 85-100

Use the the secondary pigment you milled to make Hunter's Ink at skill 85. This ink will not be used, but will gain a few skill points. Later in the guide we will start to use inks made from secondary pigments.

Low-level Scribes that cast spells should consider making more Hunter's Ink, and then making a Mystic Tome. This off-hand item requires a lot of materials, but gives a good spell power bonus at low level. The recipe for Mystic Tome is trained at skill 85 in Northrend, and 110 in Old Azeroth.
There are plenty of glyphs still to come.
