Materials 75-100

Mill 60 herbs (12 millings) that produce Dusky Pigment/Verdant Pigment. Any from: Briarthorn, Bruiseweed, Mageroyal, Stranglekelp, or Swiftthistle. You should gain at least 30 Dusky Pigment and about 4 Verdant Pigment.

You will also need 10 Light Parchment, which are sold by Inscription vendors.

Leveling 75-86

Start by making ink. Midnight Ink skills up entirely "in the green". This means most inks you create will not give a skill-up. There is a chance you will be unlucky, and not reach 79 skill. If this happens, simple make extra ink and create one of the rank-II scrolls trained at skill 75. You might also reach 80 skill by making ink, in which case make one less glyph between skill 80 and 85.

At skill 80 you will be able to train your first recipes that give more than 1 skill-up point when orange. These are shown in the data tables as "3⇑", meaning 3 skill points are gained. In this case, you will only need to make 2 glyphs to skill-up from 80 to 86, not 6!

Making Vanishing Powder until skill 90 is the most material-efficient option, since it does not require parchment. However, glyphs are more valuable at auction, so it is worth buying a few pieces of parchment.

Minor Inscription Research is trained at skill 75, and remains orange until 125. So why not skill-up with research? Minor Inscription Research has a cooldown: You can only use it once per day, so it will take a long time to level-up using only research! Minor Inscription Research allows minor glyphs to be discovered. Many minor glyphs can be used to skill-up at this level. Since I cannot be sure what you will discover, no minor glyphs are used to skill-up.

This is the first time you can create Glyphs. Many glyphs sell at auction - even low-skill recipes. If you want to make money while you skill-up Inscription, check current auction house prices before deciding what glyphs to make. Learn more about glyphs »

Leveling 86-100

Use the the secondary pigment you milled to make Hunter's Ink at skill 86. This is used to make Mysterious Tarot. The recipe remains orange until skill 125: If you have spare Hunter's Ink continue making Mysterious Tarot after skill 100.
