So I heard that players with the profession Inscription (Scribes? inscriptionists?) will get an extra Major Glyph slot. Is this confirmed or just hearsay?

The hearsay is based largely on an entry in the game data files - unfortunately but that doesn't mean the ability is available in game.
(Same situation with the Warrior and Death Knight Glyphs at the moment - they don't appear to be available in game - merely in the data files.)

by inscription-only stuff I mean the allready mention stuff on this site like Scroll of Recall, the rogue decks (where only those who got inscription who can start the actually quest) and the thing you can enchant your mount with 3% extra mount speed alltho the last one aint for sure I think..
More to come like assumed higher quality decks and decyphering witch is currently unknown what it does atm..

Blizzard have just announced that mount speed enchants are to have no effect after level 70, so the rumoured mount speed bonus is looking increasingly unlikely.
Bottom line is that we really don't know what advantage Inscribers will have yet. The only examples of Inscriber-only items in the beta are all very low level, or not available in the game yet.
