Took about 4.1k casts, mostly in Grizzly Hills for Glacial Salmon (Thats obviously not ALL of em, just the ones I'm hanging on to for aesthetic value.)
...and for those in distress who've been fishing in GH, I found multiplying your total GH catches by .4075 can get within 5 or so of your actual cast & catch number there.
Finally got mine last night as well! Somewhere in the 3.5k cast range. In the last week I have won the STV Tourny to finish off my "Salty" title, got the jeweled fishing pole, and caught my turtle mount.

I just caught my sea turtle! Wasn't even trying to catch him. I was just doing the fishing daily in Northrend and bam! Caught on the 11th cast. Took me forever to catch the dang ghostfish bit it didn't matter becase I was riding around on my turtle!
