Advice on dropping profession
Hi
I have not really paid attention to my professions (lvl 70 Alliance mage) but I do have fully skilled Skinning, Apart from farming Cobra scales which sometimes sell for 25g sometimes don't sell at all, this seemed more useful when I was lower level 'cos you skinned what you had killed.
My other skill was Enchantment which was still so low level I've barely started it. This has now been replaced by Inscription which I'm really enjoying starting to level up.
Should I drop Skinning as well and take up herbalism, thus providing me with Potions AND the ingredients for Inscription?
Thanks,
MrP.
Inscription and herbalism obviously go well together - otherwise you have to buy all your inscription materials. And herbalism can provide a reasonable income. In terms of person advantages, skinning gives a small +crit bonus, vs an instant heal from herbalism, so skinning is probably more useful to a mage.

Technically it is a short-duration HoT.
Potions come from Alchemy.
Nobody is immune from sudden job loss anymore, and everyone should be prepared for the possibility. If your finances are in order, you'll be better able to avoid being plunged into unmanageable debt caused by job loss and will be less likely to accept a job you'll end up hating. You can be prepared without being paranoid.
